Privacy

There is no long, unreadable legal text here. No mumbo-jumbo to cover my back. No attempts to trick you into agreeing to terms you'll regret later.

I am located in Belgium where the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies.

What data I collect and how I use it

I make it a point to collect as little data as necessary and, when I do, I protect it as if it was my own.

Analytics

I run a self-hosted copy of Rybbit analytics with enhanced privacy enabled.

It places no cookies and does not collect any personal information. I use it to track trends about how the website is used in the aggregate.

Email newsletter

If you sign up to my newsletter, I collect your email address to send these emails to you. It is not sold or shared with anyone.

Mailcoach, the company I use to send the email, stores your address, but they do not use that data for their own purposes. Being in Europe, the GDPR also applies to them.

Feel free to sign up with an anonymising service like Addy.io or SimpleLogin if you wish.

Tracking is disabled in all emails.

Invoicing

When you hire me, I ask for invoicing information. I do not share your data with any third parties except for invoicing software and my accountant. In the case of payment issues, your data may be transmitted to a debt recovery service.

Who’s responsible for your information

I (Colin O'Brien) am responsible for the security of any information you share with me. If you have any questions or complaints, please contact me.

Updates

Any changes to this policy become effective as soon as they are published to this website.
